Barrett T. Lynch
- Senior Compliance Officer
A twelve-year veteran examiner of the National Credit Union
Administration (NCUA), is now the CEO and co-owner of Waypoint
Advisory Services, Inc., a credit union auditing and consulting
firm which serves credit union s in Texas, Oklahoma, and beyond.
Barry attended West Texas A&M University, where he received a
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in
Finance, followed by a Master's Degree in Business
Administration from Texas Tech university. He and his wife Judy
have been married since 2000 an together they have one son
Thomas. Both Bary and Judy are, Amarillo natives. Early in
Barry's career with NCUA he encountered several high priority
fraud cases which catapulted him into his specialty designation
as a Recordkeeping and Internal Controls (RIC) Subject Matter
Examiner. Before leaving NCUA, Barry was involved in over
thirteen fraud cases throughout the United States and earned the
nickname "fraud guy." Barry received many rewards and
acknowledgments including Regions V's Group K Examiner of the
Year in 2001, Region V's Group K Examiner of the Year in 2002,
as well as the NCUA's Examiner of the Year (National)
designation for 2002.

Greg R. Schmidt CPA, CFE - Senior Accounting Advisor
Waypoint president and co-founder Greg Schmidt is a licensed CPA
in the state of Texas, and began performing internal control
work for some of thelarger credit unions in West Texas in 1998.
His relationships with those few clients, and his reputation
blossomed into a thriving credit union auditing business, which
now services nearly 50 federally and state chartered credit
unions. Greg received his bachelors degree in finance and
accounting from Texas Tech University in 1990, obtained his CPA
license in 1995, and acquired his Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
designation in 2006. Together Greg and Barry are working hard to
provide the highes quality audit and consulting services to
federally insured credit unions, at the lowest possible prices,
in order to help ensure the soundness of the movement for which
they are so deeply passionate - Credit unions.

Jamie Miller, Accounting Manager
Waypoints Accounting Manager, Jamie Miller, has her degree
in Accounting with over seven years of experience in tax
preparation, auditing, payroll, and process
development/improvement. She spent two years at Barenberg &
Washer, LLC, an Amarillo based CPA firm, preparing federal,
state, and payroll taxes for clients, primarily in the
agricultural, real-estate, trucking, and medical industries.
There, she was also a key member of the auditing committee
performing audits in Texas and New Mexico. Jamie was then
hired as Payroll Director for an Ohio based company -
Skilled Trades. There she worked in accounting and processed
over 500 payroll checks weekly, for Skilled Trades Employees
set up across the United States.
Marcus Smith, Senior Internal Controls
Specialist
Marcus Smith is the senior internal controls
specialist for Waypoint and has been with the
company since its inception. Marcus received a
bachelor's degree in business from West Texas A&M
University. He has over 13 years experience working
with clients in various business sectors. Before
starting with Waypoint, Marcus was the program
coordinator for the Panhandle Workforce Development
Board. He encompassed both fiscal and administrative
responsibilities in overseeing the internal controls
and monitoring the overall implementation of the
workforce programs. With Waypoint clients, his
Credit Union focus remains accurate record keeping
and sound internal controls.
